On November 20, 2025, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun), through its Records Management Office under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge and Head Ms. Irma M. Calderon, in partnership with the Central Records Office of Muntinlupa led by Ms. Elizabeth Gaviola, conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Managing Records in an Electronic Platform at the University Executive Lounge.
The activity brought together Records and Documents Custodians (RDCs) from various colleges and offices to enhance their competencies in handling electronic records. Participants were provided with essential knowledge and practical insights on Republic Act No. 8792, or the Electronic Commerce Act of 2000, which establishes the legal framework governing electronic transactions in the Philippines.
The seminar was highlighted by the presence of Mr. Terence Michael A. Tablizo, Supervising Records Management Analyst of the National Archives of the Philippines. In his discussion, Mr. Tablizo emphasized the crucial responsibility of RDCs in ensuring the authenticity, integrity, protection, compliance, availability, retention, and proper disposal of all records entrusted to them—particularly within digital platforms.
An engaging Question and Answer session followed, giving participants the opportunity to raise inquiries and clarify concerns regarding best practices in records management. The dialogue fostered meaningful exchanges, and attendees expressed appreciation for the valuable strategies and practical approaches they gained from the workshop.
To formally conclude the program, Engr. Cynthia T. Meneses, Executive Vice President of PLMun, delivered her closing remarks. She commended the organizers and participants for their active involvement and highlighted the importance of fully embracing digital platforms to promote efficiency, transparency, and accountability across the institution.
