THE PROFESSIONAL ETHICS OF THE FACULTY OF CAS, PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA: BASIS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FRAMEWORK FOR A VALUES TRAINING PROGRAM

Professional ethics has its concern key as means of establishing the right and proper procedures in managing and in supervising the people who are performing their jobs in the institution. These concerns are exhibited in order to develop the ethical conduct and the right moral concepts and principles that are necessary to serve as the proper guidelines for the working professional people.
The researchers in this study have attempted to trace historically and objectively the background of the University in conjunction to its faculty professors who are working and rendering their services to the organizational institution. Objectively this research study is expected to find out and assess how Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) was developed and established into An institute of higher learning, like other universities. The researchers considered three areas that would be traced historically, namely: 1) The institutional establishment; 2) The collegial establishment; and 3) The establishment of faculty organization of the College of Arts and Sciences. The team researchers in this study decided to utilize the four theories created and developed by Ma. Elenita Balatbat Cabrera (2014) based on her book, “Public Accountancy Profession” In her work, she cited the four theories namely: 1) The responsibility to serve the public; 2) The complex body of knowledge; 3) The standard admission; and 4) The need for public confidence.
This study is using descriptive method that is based from the outcome of the administered survey questionnaires from the faculty respondents.
Based on the findings from the assessment of the faculty professors regarding their professional ethics, the study concluded the following: (1) that the educational attainment must also be considered by improving the necessary required qualification with their degree either Master of Arts or Master of Science (MA/MS) and Completed Academic Requirements (CAR) for doctoral degree.
In 2011, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) had already required those teaching in college to have the necessary educational qualification; (2) That the years In Service rendered by the faculty professors should also be considered and must be given security and protection in order for the faculty to deliver the quality of service and work for their students and for the school administration as well; (3) That the faculty professors must maintain and deliver the quality of professionalism and ethical services in relation to their students with honesty and integrity; and (4) That the faculty professors must also be concerned and aware in relation to their teaching jobs and their instructional performance, which are highly indispensable for the quality education in building excellent university like PLMun.
