This research stems from the ideas that PLMun should be a “University of Values” and the preparation for the university’s curricula in the ASEAN integration. The summit that happened last year is now widely implemented across colleges and offices. It is key apparent that PLMun is set for both national and international academic arena.
The research instrument was answered by four sectors namely, industry, alumni, faculty and the students. All of them shared their ideas and sentiments for the development of this study. In the first part of this endeavour, they answered the question, “How important are the following criteria to the stakeholders in eight areas?” In summary, they responded that all of the eight areas are ‘Important’. From this, participants answered the second question, “How do the respondents access the acceptability of the inclusion of the Subjects in General Education Courses to the future PLMun Curricula? It was a surprising ‘Acceptable’ in all eight areas. And the last question is “What are the recommended Gender Responsive and Values Driven topics in General Education Courses by 2018 in PLMun?”
The stakeholders answered ‘Desirable’ in all topics, with special emphasis on the following: a.) The Value of Health (with special topic on HIV issues), b.) Gender sensitive stress coping mechanism, c.) Gender and Development and the Filipino Family, d.) Gender sensitive life skills development, e.) Genderbased Community Mobilizing and Organizing. In conclusion therefore, all of them accepted the importance of the subjects in the suggested eight areas. They recommended to include all topics, however with emphasis on their desired ones.
